IGN: So I’ve got to ask… Your buddy Joss [Whedon] has a new TV show percolating, and he’s been known to make use of your talents in several projects. So is that something you’ve had any conversations about? And do you think you’d look good in a S.H.I.E.L.D. jumpsuit?
Glau: “Well, I have my fingers crossed behind my back. I try not to say anything to Joss about anything he’s doing because he has so many actors, and I know we all want to work for him. So I don’t know, but if I could be a part of it in any way, of course, you know I want to”.
So the question is, who do the fans want to see and who will nerd Jesus Joss Whedon end up using?
Whedon has a tendency to use his past actors sporadically and based on availability, but there are only a core group that seem to make recurrent appearances (Dushku, Acker, Denisof, Tudyk, Fillion etc.) in different tv shows or movies the directors made over the years.
So here’s a quick list of who we’d like to see in Joss’ new S.H.I.E.L.D. Series, and who we reckon has potential to cameo/star based on their availability and a history with the nerd Jesus:
Alan Tudyk – He’s a recurrent character in current TV series Suburgatory and has some movies in post production, so there’s no reason Alan couldn’t get a few scenes in for his old boss
Amy Acker – Amy Acker has a few TV roles, but nothing big. Pencil her is as a big ‘possible’
Alyson Hannigan – Still doing How I Met Your Mother (fucker!)
Seth Green – Seth Green pop’s up in everything nerdy. Ever! There is strong cameo potential here.
Nicholas Brendon – Brendon has done a lot of bit’s and pieces and had a recurrent role in Hollywood Heights, but otherwise he’s good to go. Go on Joss; Bring Xander back as and agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Anthony Head – Merlin’s on his slate, but beyond that we’d move heaven and earth to make this happen. Plus Joss Whedon loves him. Get Tony back on set! PLEEEEEEAAAAASE!
James Marsters – Dragon Warriors was his last credit and before that the upcoming Metal Hurlant TV show. He’s cameo prepped and ready.
Summer Glau – She’s a regular on Alphas (assuming Syfy bring it back for a 4th season) and has a few flicks in post production. She also really wants to do it!
Nathan Fillion – He’s on Castle, so this is unlikely, but he’s also on Whedon’s Doctor Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog so the rabid fanboy in me refuses to accept that a cameo isn’t a possibility
Gina Torres – Currently working on Suits for the USA network. Groan!
Sarah Michelle Gellar – With Ringer cancelled she’s been doing a lot of Robot Chicken. I say trade the chicken for Madroid! You know this makes sense
David Boreanaz – Still working on dem Bones
Eliza Dusku – Interestingly Dusku is providing voice talent for Marvels Hulk: Agents Of S.M.A.S.H. There is definite cross-over potential.
Enver Gjokaj – Easily the best thing about Dollhouse Enver needs a comeback. S.H.I.E.L.D. could be it. Please make S.H.I.E.L.D. it!
Dichen Lachman – currently filming Too Late. She’d be a perfect S.H.I.E.L.D. field agent though. It’s never too late.
Adam Baldwin – Baldwin has a stuffed schedule from Law and Order to Castle to his voice-over work. He’s always busy, which means he’s always looking. Look no further Adam. Get this man a jump suit and a big gun ASAP!
Morena Baccarin – With Home Land finished she’s a Whedon sized opening in her schedule
Jewel Staite – L.A. Complex was her last TV show, a major departure from her turns in mostly sci-fi fare like Stargate: Atlantis. Get this lady back in Sci-Fi
Alexis Denisof – Last worked with Joss Whedon on Much Ado About Nothing, plus he’s Joss’ kids godfather. A shoe in I tell you!
So there’s our list. Now tell us fan’s – who would you like to see pop up in the new S.H.I.E.L.D. Series?
