Cosplay is so awesome and there is so much of it out there that I have decided to put together a daily article for your viewing pleasure. In fact I feel quite excited about sharing even more awesome pictures with you all.
So without further ado I give you my Cosplay Of The Day:
This is a beautiful rendition of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride and I think the lady in the photo totally nailed the look. For comparison I have posted the original below:
The Corpse Bride is one of my favourite Tim Burton characters. She embodies all of TB’s trademark kooky charm, her big eyes and lush blue hair is nothing short of stunning. She is also voiced by the lovely Helena Bonham Carter, which is always a plus in my books. the Corpse Bride is also fun in terms of translating the character into real-life. I like that in cosplay she is usually portrayed with part skeletal features, which gives her more of a twist as otherwise let’s face it, she would just be another blue haired chick in a wedding dress (I believe there are probably a fair few of those around). I particularly love how the cosplayer above managed to convey the big-eyed, doll-face expression…that is some pretty damn fine make-up right there. She also did an fantastic job on the skeleton hand and the dress.
This is a beautiful tribute, to a beautiful character and the film is not too bad either. In fact, I really enjoyed the film (that kind of animation is one of my favourites).
What do you think? Do you cosplay? And if so would you like to be featured? Send your pictured to me and a bit about why you like to cosplay and you never know I may feature you… Send your pics to susie@badhaven.com (nothing too obscene please, I get enough of that on my Tumblr blog).
