Rian Johnson’s Looper will be hitting the shelves soon (on Mon 31st if you live in the US and January 28th if you live in the UK). The film stars Joseph Gordan-Levitt as a hitman who kills targets that are sent back through time and is pretty shocked when his latest target turns out to be none other than a future version of himself (played by Bruce Willis)… though I’d say the biggest shock is finding out that he’s eventually going to go bald more than anything else.

Sony have released a new trailer to celebrate the release of Looper on Blu-ray and DVD which you can check out below:

In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to ”close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

My wife and I really like action flicks with Bruce Willis, and can’t wait to watch this one. I heard from a co-worker at DISH that Looper came out on blu-ray this week. I wish I had the money to just go out and buy it, but Christmas happened, so I’m broke, yet again. But I do have plans to stream it later tonight using my Blockbuster @Home service. I’ve had Blockbuster for a while now and I use it mainly for movies and video games, and like how I can get a variety all for the same low monthly fee. Maybe down the road I’ll consider buying it if it’s any good.
