The remake that has everyone talking, Evil Dead, has announced more exciting news this week!
First of all, the film was reviewed by the MPAA and given a predictable NC-17 rating. Because, as the system has taught us, killing people is perfectly fine, as long as there isn’t any visible blood.
Naturally, Sam Raimi had to cut the film to make it “suitable” for an R rating, so the unrated version won’t be available for viewing until it is released on DVD and Blu-ray. On the plus side, the movie will make it to theaters, and even sooner than fans expected. Bruce Campbell announced via twitter that Evil Dead will be released a week early, gracing the big screen on April 5th, 2013, instead of April 12th, 2013.
This is spectacular news for horror fanatics who have been eagerly awaiting the movie since it was first announced about a year ago.
In the film, five friends are stranded in a cabin in the woods and left to fend for themselves, after they unknowingly resurrect ancient spirits that swallow the souls of whomever they encounter.
