Following on from my article about whether Ryan Reynolds or Nathan Fillion should be cast for Hal Jordan in the Justice League movie, I was posed a question
“Who do I think should portray the rest of the justice league?”
Choosing to accept this mission I very quickly came upon another question
“Who makes up the Justice League?”
Now having an excuse to geek out in my free time, I spent an entire weekend re-watching the classic Justice League and Justice League Unlimited Cartoons and Smallville, re-reading my collection of comics and asking my fellow fans. Pretty much anything that ever had the words Justice League in them was used. When I eventually emerged from my dark, secluded bubble, I had come up with my list of characters that are generally accepted as members of the Justice league.
These being:
Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Martian Man Hunter, The Flash, Green Arrow, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Aquaman, Black Canary, The Atom, Hal Jordan, Kyle Rayner, Guy Gardner and John Stewart.
The next challenge came to who would play each character. So back into my hole I went, scouring the internet, watching endless TV shows and Movies to try and find my cast, refusing to eat, drink, sleep or work until this had been completed. Various criteria had to be filled for someone to be eligible for the honour to portray the legends that are the JLA. Some of these were:
- Would they be suitable eye candy in skin tight spandex?
- Do they have any prior Nerd credentials?
- Do they look remotely like their character and do they have the ability to portray the various characteristics of them?
- And finally How likely are they to want to kill me if I don’t put them on my list?
After vetting many actors and actresses (and actually verbalising apologies and explanations to my computer screen as I deleted their picture) I came up with my Justice League.
So ladies and gentlemen, I present to you who I believe should be our Justice League (I don’t care if you disagree…I think they’re awesome!!!):
