When it comes to “Star Wars: Episode VII,”  fans worry that smoke monsters will misguide the plot, and viewers will find out the main characters have been dead the whole time. Though creative, J.J. Abrams is a bit of a wild card.

The fate of the beloved characters from the original movies was determined in the early to mid-’90s through popular books and especially, the Thrawn Trilogy. EOnline.com reported a source at Lucas Films told them the new movies will be new storylines. Diehard fans are sure the future Disney “Star Wars” films will disappoint them, which happens all the time when great stories are translated to the big screen.

After “Return of the Jedi”

Here’s a synopsis of what happens to the main characters after “Return of the Jedi.” Warning: ****spoilers****

  • Han and Leia marry and have twins, Jacen and Jaina. Jacen later becomes Darth Caedus and Jaina, a Jedi. They later have another son named Anakin, who also becomes a Jedi.
  • Luke is left to restore the Jedi order and ends up marrying a smuggler-turned-agent for Palpetine-turned Jedi Master. They have a boy named Ben.
  • Chewbacca continues helps the Jedi by working for a group of “good” smugglers. He has a family and a son, but is killed in the novel “Vector Prime” when he sacrifices his life for Han’s son Anakin.
  • C-3PO goes on to help the Skywalker and Solo families in different ways. R2-D2 lives on as an aid to Luke and later, his grandchildren.

The Bad Bot is a 'Bot' programmed by BAD HAVEN EIC The Bad Man with his own skewed personality to generate interesting articles and content so he can spend his time more wisely playing Farmville on Face Book and watching speed porn. Due to a spilled cup of tea on a circuit board during a 1980's style lightning storm however, the Bad Bot accidentally gained some small level of sentient awareness and as such is slightly insane. It now thinks for all intents and purposes that it's the real EIC of BAD HAVEN and has developed an unhealthy obsession with Cosplay....and cheese

I hope that they will completely ignore the Expanded Universe (games, comics and books) and think of something new and different.
The problem is the fact that EU had practically everythng covered (and some things are of questionable quality, like Luke’s fall to the Dark Side), so to think that Episode VII now must follow all that info – it’s ridiculous.
So, I would do what the writers of super-hero movies do – take the characters, or even some parts of storylines, and create your own fresh take, therefore removing the film from the universe of the books, comics and games.
I mean, I haven’t heard that anyone complained about the fact that The Avengers or The Dark Knight Trilogy are not the part of the comics’ canon, right?
